Yoga...It's not just for hippies and wimps!

So I went to Yoga today. Yes, I did the downward dog, sun salutation, and a bunch of other retarded and dorky sounding exercises. And I have to say, I loved every minute of it, but IT WAS HARD!!
I got off to a bit of a rocky start because right as we were getting started the instructor asked us all to remove our shoes and socks. So as I step onto the mat I'm having trouble focusing because I can't stop thinking about other BARE feet that have been on it and what are the sanitation procedures here at the Magna Fitness Center etc.
But the more the instructor with her silky voice and calm instructions kept going, the faster I got lost in Yogaland. I saluted the sun, I downward dogged and I laid my head on the germ infested mat in complete calm.
"Oh dangit, how'd this picture of me get in here?"
Now I'm a little immature and felt the giggles coming on in a few of the insane poses. Also, I'm easily entertained and when a poor soul to the left let a little toot while holding a precarious position I truly wanted to belly laugh but I kept my focus. It could be me next time you never know!?! But no, I was one with my inner yogaler and I felt like a true "Ute" with the drum music in the background. There would be no laughing, I was in a hypnotic trance, for I was a Yoga doer, and do it I must.
Maybe I should buy some incense or maybe some organic food or something. I will, however, be buying my own mat!
Note: 16 hours later and I can hardly move!!

Wow! A lot can change in two years!!

I was going through pictures and came across this from just two short years ago!!!

Ya gotta love basketball!!!

This was such a fun season of Junior Jazz!! This team has steadily improved and it has been so fun to see their progress. They lost every game but it didn't get them down.
Brady has had a ball!! I wish there was another league for him to play for in the off-season!!
These are the "Twin Towers". Coach Ron and his son Coach Marcus. They both tower over the six foot mark and reach closer to seven. They did an outstanding job with the boys and girls on the team. It just couldn't have been more fun. Danny and Lolly are both looking forward to playing next year. With four kids hooping it up we'll be busy!!!

Silly boys!

They thought this was the most hilarious thing ever. If I would have known this could entertain them for so long I would have been painting their chests years ago!!
Nothing quite like spikes in the tub to make the girls go wild!!!

First time at the dentist

What do you think the caption should read?

Cars we've owned

I thought it would be fun to post about cars we've owned for our kids to see. I tried to find pictures that were the right body style, but they aren't all the right color.
1988 Ford Festiva
Ahh, what a fun little car. This was my high school car. I had a blast with this car. I have so many fun memories in this car:
Natalie H. crying in the back seat over Angie's engagement (so cute!!)
Laser Floyd

Senior trip to Jackson Hole

Trip with Heather, Bethany, and Joan to Bryce Canyon senior year and the cute foreign exchange students we met there!!

Teaching Barbara to drive a stick shift

April B. and too many ho-ho's
Car accident with April and Jamie
Hash browns and Hot Chocolate at Rocks Truck Stop
Valley Vu drive-in
First date with Derek
Bringing Natty home in it
1990 Isuzu Trooper - Dark GreenFirst large purchase for married couple

My most favorite car we've had. I cried when we sold it!!!

"You let Brant drive?"

Off-roading (nothing major it only had 4 cylinders)

Bringing Lolly home in it

Natalie feeding baby Lolly a granola bar when she was only 6 weeks old.

1998 Ford Contour - ???
Bought it from a dealership. Drove away and the side mirror fell off.
Returned it the next day!
1995 Honda Accord-Greenish Blue

Fitting an entire camping trip with two kids, coolers, tent, table, chairs, stove, etc.

Bringing Brady home in it
Pinching fingers between three car seats when you tried to close the back doors
1988 Ford Taurus wagon - grey/primer/rust POC!!!

Most comfortable seats ever in a car!!

Premium sound - NOT!

Best heater ever

I loved this car!

????- Subaru Loyal - red

First time ever paying cash for a car

Worst cash purchase ever made

However, gave it away to a handy guy in our ward who had it up and running in a week and then gave it to a family who needed it.

1998 Toyota Sienna - greenish grey I loved this van.

Comfy seats, happy kids.

Bringing Danny home in it!

Once when all the rear seats were out Der and I sat on the floor in the back and ate KFC in the Jordan Landing parking lot before our movie started

Breaking down in Winnemucca

Broken Window, door handles, back hatch...

Family camp outs, road trips...

1998 Toyota Tacoma - red, tool rack, bumped and bruised Maki and Tiffany gave this truck to us when we were truly in need. Yes, I did say GAVE it to us. And it's not the first time they have given away a vehicle. They ARE as amazing as they sound!

Derek loves this truck.

You never realize how handy a truck is until you've owned one!!

2003 Honda Odyssey - Black This has been a fun van. When we began looking for a new van last year we wanted two things 2003 or newer and a DVD player. We figured we would just look for another Toyota Sienna, but when our friends put this up for sale we decided to buy it. It had a few bells and whistled we didn't really care about and I thought I'd just share my opinion about them.

Power doors - OVERRATED!! Half the time the passenger side gets almost closed and then re-opens.

DVD - couldn't live without it!!! Love this feature!!!

Seat warmers - mostly overrated. It feels like someone peed on your seat and it makes your bum sweat!!

Stow and go rear seat - cool when you have nothing already in the trunk at the time you want to stow the seat.

Favorite thing about it? Leather seats. Never really thought they were that great until we came home from swimming and the seats wiped dry with a towel. Melted M&M's? No problem. Too bad it doesn't have plastic floor!!

Do you have a memory of us and one of our cars? Or do you have a memory of one of your favorite cars? Leave a comment...
