The Chicks are growing fast!!

Roxy - hatched march 28, 2010 Roxy today at 7 1/2 weeks old.

(Danny spiked his hair all over today. He was so pleased. What's a mother to do but take a picture and send him to school? You might say I've relaxed a bit in my old age! )

Danny had a field trip

He asked Derek to go on his field trip with him.

They went to "This Is The Place Heritage Park."

This is what Danny has to say about this field trip:

"Uh... it was fun to go on the real train. Being in the front of the fake train. It was fun to go on the bus. And it was really hot on the bus. It was fun to play in the village. And I saw the Hogle Zoo. I learned to clean the rugs like the pioneers. It was fun for Dad to come with me. It was fun to straighten the wool. We smelled gross smelling wool that wasn't clean!! But then we smelled the clean wool and it wasn't that stinky. I liked this field trip so much. "

Natty Made Cyprus Show Choir

At 5:30 Monday morning there was a knock on our front door (they secretly called the night before to tell us they were coming.) Jill and Lexie had kidnapped three girls and were coming for Nat. They all quietly snuck down to her room and opened the door. Then they yelled "Wake up!! You made show choir!!" They squirted her with water guns and put a silly crown on her head and a sign around her neck. She was so out of it, but very excited. We probably should have made her skip this part because of mono but we just didn't have the heart to do that.

They took her in her pj's and soon all the incoming Madrigals and show choir (kidnapped by the outgoing seniors) met at the church pavilion on 6400w. and 3500 s (where I had my wedding reception) and had breakfast burritos and other tasty things. Mr.. Moore was there and she said it was awesome!

After breakfast they brought her home long enough to grab her backpack and brush her teeth and then off she went to school for the day looking like this picture above.

She was thrilled to death!!! Good job!!

Mono update: She is still pretty exhausted all the time but is doing so much better. Getting up in the morning is the most difficult for her. She'll have to say goodbye to her 4.o record this quarter and that frustrates her to no end. Oh well.

I can't believe this cutie is 13!! Wow. Laurel is such a great kid. She works hard in school, she loves life and is definitely bigger than life too! She is a funny kid. She actually just found out today that she made it onto the school Improv Team!! She was thrilled with the news!!!

So here is how cell phones work at the Fishes: No giving out your number to friends. No calling friends. 60 minutes a month. You may only call family members. ABSOLUTELY NO TEXTING! Yet, even with the ultra strict rules and the no social use clause, she was very excited and still hoping for the cell phone. Go figure. I guess it's all about the square in the front pocket. She had a great birthday. We love this wonderful, beautiful, talented, sweet girl!! Happy Birthday Lolly!

Hen House Progress

Saturday began with the stake 5K. It was fun. . . ish. Lolly did awesome and ran nearly the whole thing. Her time was 31:35. Her best time so far.

After that Der and I ran to Lowes for SHINGLES!!! Brady and Derek shingled the whole thing and Brady was able to complete about two thirds of the shingling on his own. He was in hog heaven!! The chicks are getting big and stinky so we are ready to move them out soon!

Derek has been able to get all the wood from work for free. But he has to take a crowbar and hammer and take apart crates and other shipping items before he can bring it home. So this has been a slow process. But we are just grateful that all we have had to purchase so far is some nails, 12 2x4's, and two bags of shingles. Boeing gift cards have paid for the other shingles and supplies. Brady was very proud of his work! Dan and Lolly needed a quick turn on the roof.

D: When you pray for your sins do they go away and never come back? M: Well, you have to work hard. But if you try they will never come back. D: Do you think Brady should pray for his sins? Brady: I DO pray for my sins!!! D: I bet that was a LONG prayer!
